Looks like Facebook is trying to come up with it’s own rescue plan to combat the surge of new Twitter users. Facebook will now allow a continuous stream of “updates” from your friends statuses and they are going to offer the one thing that Tweeters have long been seeking - a filter for that stream.
You may not want to “unfollow” your neice but certainly don’t want to recieve her 92 updates every hour about what type of gum she is chewing, in Twitter you don’t really have a choice unless you create a group of everyone else and leave her out.
It appears that Facebook will now allow you to privately choose whose updates you wish to “follow.”
We will see how their rescue plan goes next week when their changes go live.
